English Description
maya ongaku return with their long-awaited second album, Nothing Space Music, their first full-length release in three years. Formed around the seaside towns of Enoshima, Japan, the band explores silence, stillness and space through repetitive grooves, delicate ensemble playing, ambient textures and improvisation. The album moves freely between psychedelic folk, ambient music and intimate pop without settling into any single genre. From the opening “Vanishing Waves” to “Permanent Waves,” the eight tracks create a deeply immersive soundscape where sound and silence, memory and the present moment seem to dissolve into one another. A refined and mysterious new chapter from one of Japan's most distinctive contemporary indie groups.
